The tree ...Down with foreigners, VOTE DAILY MAIL.

The tree is defiantly god like yes, unlike my note above. I disagree with your interpretation though. Neytiri is speaking from her own knowledge - the tree has not before got involved - it doesnt have a rule book. I don't think it is contradicting Neytiri that the tree helps, I think it is emphasising what a huge threat man is to the planet. Similar to the Ents in LOTR - they don't get involved until the see for themselves the great damage being committed (bad analogy, but Im sticking with it).

Its not a God supported cause, its the planet uniting. The tree is much more than a God, it is alive in the tree's, the animals, everywhere and everyone - they can all be connected with their head tentacles. Very different to religious fundamentalism.

On a slightly different note - do you think their head tentacles got in on the action in the forest?Alnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2836661004273915348.post-43395684349356266252010-01-03T17:57:16.171+00:002010-01-03T17:57:16.171+00:00woah - i make the comparison of race and disabilit...woah - i make the comparison of race and disability in the simplest sense: someone in a minority who, due to the surrounding culture, are discriminated against.

Jake, a disabled man and therefore in a minority, physically changes who he fundamentally is to suit the environment he prefers. An ending with a more moral punch would be a cross Na'vi-human relationship, whereby they both accept who they are and don't care what anyone thinks.

I'm scared we are going to get into an intense racial debate...simoncolumbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09027922399726786918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2836661004273915348.post-70199304512535520022010-01-03T17:15:30.842+00:002010-01-03T17:15:30.842+00:00Hey, so here is an attempt:
I thought the forrest...Hey, so here is an attempt:

I thought the forrest scene was amazing - completly different to anything that you would see on Blue Planet. This a 'realistic' fantasy world with lots the neon and florescents which is stunning. As for how much value the 3D added, I would say that it definatly enhabced the movie. Some of the flight and fight sequences where improved and was more involving than I think they would be in 2D. Certainly it was much better used in this compared with UP or Toy Story.

I think race and disability are two very different things which cant really be used identiaclly in this instance. I dont think it is saying that you can just 'change who you are'.

Anyway, got to dash so will finish this later plus:

God like? - I dont think so
Hopefully no sequel.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
